Seeking a teacher upon starting the bassoon is of utmost importance. My goal as a teacher is to provide students with solid fundamentals that can be built off of in the years to come. I focus much on breath and embouchure in the goal of helping students realize a beautiful sound.
Bassoon reeds are very important to making a beautiful sound, too! I make my own reeds and am able to provide reeds for students. I also teach reed making to willing students.
An instrument that is in proper working condition is essential; I have experience working as a bassoon repair technician at the largest manufacturer of bassoons in the world, Fox Products. I make sure my student’s instruments are kept in proper working condition.
Please contact me for current rates. I teach at my local church and lesson frequency is flexible. Students most often choose to have a half-hour lesson every week or a one-hour lesson every other week. The primary book I work beginners through is ‘The New Weissenborn Method for Bassoon’ which can be bought on Amazon.
